Education, Advocacy and Resources

At TauRx, we believe that education underpins the acceptance of new ideas in established scientific, medical and patient communities.

Information for non-scientists, for members of the public looking for answers to help themselves or a loved one deal with neurodegenerative disease, is really important. Educational materials play a huge part in supporting their understanding.

With this in mind, we provided an educational grant to a non-profit organisation called BrainMind to support the production of educational materials to explain the role of tau in Alzheimer's disease. The mission of BrainMind is to support and cultivate the most important and impactful ideas in brain science. Co-founder and scientific illustrator, Diana Saville, brought the science to life with her pictures and clear explanations.

The illustrations explain in detail what we know about tau, its role in neurodegenerative disease, and how various approaches to targeting the tau pathological process may work to reduce and possibly halt Alzheimer's disease. They also help explain why we continue on our mission to offer genuine hope for change in the future alongside exciting advances in treatment and diagnostics made by other research companies.

Our work with GT Diagnostic Centre is supporting the advancement of diagnostic tools and we picture the future clinical pathway for treatment of the millions of patients affected by dementia to be transformed to something very different to what it is today.

We also recognise the incredible support provided by the numerous patient advocacy groups across the world, helping people, carers and families affected by dementia and related illnesses to cope with the day to day impact of the disease.
