Advancing our understanding through rigorous scientific trials
Our clinical trial history
spanning the last 20 years
Here you’ll find a comprehensive overview and links to detailed information on our past studies, including their objectives, methods and results. These trials represent milestone, sometimes breakthrough, steps in our understanding of tau aggregation inhibitors and their potential in treating neurodegenerative diseases.

In collaboration with neurologists and clinical research centres in North America and Europe, TauRx's pivotal Phase III clinical trial, named LUCIDITY, aimed to prove our investigational drug works, following earlier tests that showed it has measurable effects even in small amounts. The trial studied the effect of the drug on participants with mild cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer’s and mild to moderate Alzheimer’s.
The trial applied commonly-used clinical assessments to check cognitive skills and daily functioning, along with brain scans and blood tests. These helped us measure how well our drug might slow down Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and included an open-label phase during which all participants received the active drug. Patients completing the full trial were eligible for continued use of the drug under an Expanded Access Programme.
TauRx also completed its Phase III trial related to the rare neurodegenerative disorder, behavioural variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD).
